Integrations

Connect Ida to external services for enhanced functionality. Currently supported integrations include Google Calendar and AI providers.

Google Calendar

Link your Google Calendar to Ida for meeting awareness and automatic session naming. When connected, Ida can show upcoming meetings and pre-load relevant context.

What You Get

  • Meeting Notifications — See upcoming meetings directly in Ida
  • Auto-linking — Connect sessions to calendar events with one click
  • Automatic Naming — Sessions inherit the meeting title
  • Participant Context — Know who's in the meeting

Setting Up Google Calendar

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  2. Select "Sign in with Google"
  3. Authorize Ida to access your calendar (read-only)
  4. Your upcoming events will appear in the app
Privacy Note

Ida only requests read-only access to your calendar. We never modify, create, or delete events. Calendar data is processed locally and not stored on our servers.

Linking Sessions to Events

  1. Start a new session or open the session dropdown
  2. Click the calendar icon on any session
  3. Select the calendar event to link
  4. The session inherits the event title and displays the link

Troubleshooting

403 Forbidden Error

If you see a 403 error when accessing calendar events:

  1. Go to Google Cloud Console
  2. Navigate to APIs & Services → Library
  3. Search for "Google Calendar API" and ensure it's enabled
  4. Sign out of Ida and sign back in to refresh your token

Missing Calendar Permissions

If calendar events aren't loading:

  1. Visit Google Account Permissions
  2. Find Ida in the list
  3. Remove access, then re-authenticate in Ida
  4. Ensure you accept calendar permissions during sign-in

Ida captures system audio, which means it works with any meeting application:

Zoom

Full support for Zoom meetings, webinars, and calls.

Google Meet

Capture audio from browser-based Meet sessions.

Microsoft Teams

Works with Teams desktop and web applications.

Slack Huddles

Transcribe Slack voice and video huddles.

Discord

Capture voice channels and direct calls.

Any Audio App

If it plays through your Mac's audio, Ida can capture it.

Screen Recording Permission

To capture system audio, Ida needs Screen Recording permission in System Preferences → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. This enables capturing audio from other applications.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

Optionally sync your data across devices with Ida's cloud sync service:

  • End-to-end encrypted data transmission
  • Sync sessions, notes, and settings
  • Requires Ida account and subscription
  • Can be disabled to keep everything local

Cloud sync is disabled by default. Enable it in Settings → Sync if you want cross-device access.
